Artist's Statement:

Light is always the common factor in my work. I tend to choose a subject because of the drama of light on it or within it. Light combined with water is perhaps my favourite subject.
I work on fine grade abrasive paper which allows me to build up layers of pastel and as in the oil painting medium I work from dark to light. I like the immediacy of the pastel medium, it is capable of great delicacy or boldness and strength.
