News from Halla Shafey PS.
1. In August I was invited to be one three international jurors for the Red Rock Pastel Society of Nevada international exhibition entitled ‘Orange’, to be held at the Priscilla Fowler Gallery in Las Vegas this October.
2. One of my works entitled ‘Bird Watching’ has been accepted and is currently on show at the Pastel Society of America (PSA) 51st Annual Exhibition, Enduring Brilliance.
3. I am slowly working towards attaining Eminent Pastelist status with the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) after attaining Master Pastelist status in 2020. Still a long way to go though! I have recently entered a new painting to hopefully be included in their upcoming Master Circle exhibition this November.
4. I am currently preparing to teach my fourth annual course with the Pastel Academy of the Pastel Society of America via zoom to artists all over the world. The 6 weeks course (7 Jan -10 Feb 2024 /every Sunday) will focus on abstraction using pastels . Anyone can join, details to be announced soon.
Roy Wright PS reports: I have just heard that I will be one of the exhibiting artists to be the shown at the British Art Fair this year with the Rebecca Hossack Gallery on stand 17.
They will be taking two of my large charcoal drawings ‘In the shade of the tall Oaks II’ and ’The outspread arms of the Spring Oak’
The BAF 2023 takes place between 28th September and 1st October at the Saatchi Gallery, Duke of York Square, London, SW3 4RY.
