Spring News 2023 featuring Keith Bennett, Cheryl Culver, Jeannette Hayes and Simon Hodges

Vice President Simon Hodges Open Sudio 29th April -1st May. 11am -5pm.
12 Hillview Road, Bath. BA1 6NX https://www.hillviewstudio.co.uk

Simon introduces:

‘I am part of a small art and garden trail in Larkhall on the eastern edge of Bath which is part of The Larkhall Festival running from the 28 April to 1 May. I will be opening the house, studios and garden where I work most of the time and have sketchbooks, work in progress and finished work which will be sold at studio prices during the Festival. There are oils, acrylics, watercolours and of course pastels. A number of paintings have sold in the past despite being hidden away as unfinished.

This year, I am again featuring work in glass designed and made by my sister, Ann Price.

However, the main reason for being part of this art trail that I helped organize from its inception about 12 years ago until joining The Pastel Society, has been the opportunity for myself to meet and talk to the public and for them to have a chance of seeing how I work, hidden as I am most of the time from public scrutiny. Nowadays, I am always pleased to tell people about The Pastel Society and with our exhibition being later in the year, this is particularly good timing.

It has always seemed to be an enjoyable time for those who have visited over the past years and long may it continue.’

Two Pastel Society Members are featured in the July Edition of The Artist Magazine available from 16th May 2023: Keith Bennett Winner of The Artist Magazine Award 2022 and Cheryl Culver who has written an article 'Capture the Drama of Coastal Cliffs Scenes in Pastel'.
